Family-run preschools located in Huntsbury and Dallington, Christchurch. We believe in providing quality childcare & daycare in a caring and supportive environment to enhance a child’s learning, through awareness and understanding of individual needs. PHILOSOPHY

The first years of your child’s life is a time of magic and wonder. We understand the importance of these years, and dedicate ourselves to enabling them to grow, learn and develop in an environment centred on their happiness, security, capability and independence. Read more on our approach here

PARENTS

We recognise that parents and whānau are their child's first and more enduring educators. Our aim is to work in close partnership with parents to complement their approach to childcare. Effective communication means there is a two-way flow of information, knowledge and expertise between parents and staff.

HIGHEST STANDARDS

Both our Huntsbury and Dallington centres have highly, experienced and trained staff that regularly attend professional development courses. We offer higher ratios of staff to children than what the Ministry of Education expects. Our emphasis is on respectful, reciprocal relationships with whānau, caregivers, children and staff.

M.O.E SUBSIDIES

We are committed to offering, where applicable, the Ministry's of Education 20 hours of ECE funding subsidy. If your child is 3,4 or 5 the cost can be fully subsidised for up to 6 hours a day and up to 20 hours a week. To find out more please contact us.

One of our core values at Buttercups Preschools is whanaungatanga. As described in Te Whāriki, this is a sense of whānau connection – a relationship through shared experiences and working together that provides people with a sense of belonging. At Buttercups Preschool, a sense of belonging is evident each day as we observe and experience so many beautiful interactions. We recently welcomed Lynette from Christchurch City Libraries who kindly did a group time with us! Charlie came along too, which was exciting! Ngā tamariki really enjoyed the puppets, pukapuka (books) and waiata (songs)!
